Bassoon Works of Eugène Bozza: Ruminations
Eugène Joseph Bozza was a prolific French composer active through most of the 20th c. Although Bozza wrote vocal music, stage works, ballets and orchestral works, he is best known for his wind chamber music and wind instrument solo works. Bozza’s compositional style varies with each work. He composed music with no stories attached, immaculately crafted and attentive to the playing idioms of all instruments. Amy Pollard is Asst. Prof. of bassoon at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia and member of several orchestral and chamber ensembles.
